Quantum Disks in many cases be working perfectly one day and then the next suddenly fail. A burned chip on the PCB controller or damaged circuits are common reasons of electronic failure (PCB Failure). Heat can cause the electronics to fail. Power surges are also one of the most common problems. The smell of burnt circuits combined with the sight of smoke coming out of your computer is something indicating about the damage of the PCB board.
