Recovery Process:

Depending on the type of Apple Raid system, the data recovery process can take several paths depending on the Apple Raid configuration of your system.

In all cases all hard disks are imaged as part of our standard recovery procedure. This ensures the intergity of the original hard disk's.

We then work with the hard disk images to process the Apple Raid system by recompiling the data. This process depends on your Apple Raid configutation but often involves de-stripping or recompiling the hard disk images and then processing the data.

We are the only data recovery company that images all hard disks before and after de-stripping-recompiling to ensure the highest possible chance of recovering your data.

We recover Apple Raid systems from all Apple Mac, Windows, Linux and Unix systems. So no matter whether its Apple HFS+, HFS, NTFS, Ext2, Ext3, Ext4, XFS or ZFS we can recover your data for you. We can also determine the Raid configuration if you are unsure.

Apple Raid Raid Configuration:

Apple Raid devices support several different data storage configurations, which provide the owner with different data protection levels and different recovery chances if the Apple Raid systems fails. Please call us on 0207 112 1770 for more details on your setup.

RAID 0: Data is distributed across the drives. This is the best-performing configuration with maximum data capacity. A single drive failure causes loss of all the data.

RAID 1: Two shared disks are mirrored. This configuration provides great speed but only half of the potential storage capacity. This configuration is rarely used on Apple Raid devices but we still see some Apple Raid 1 systems with this configuration.

JBOD: Data on the Apple Raid System is spanned along all disks. This ensures full storage capacity and good performance. Single drive failure may cause all data loss. We don't see this often in Apple systems unless it has been setup by an network engineer for a purpose.

RAID 5: This is now the most popular and the default for most of Apple's Raid servers. Data is distributed across the drives using backward parity rotation. This configuration is fast but space equal to one disk's capacity is lost. The Apple Raid 5 system will continue to operate normally even after single drive failure. We normally receive a lot of Apple Raid 5 systems due to a one or two disks failing in the raid array or a rebuild that has not completed correctly. Apple RAID servers can have a wide variety of RAID configurations.

Apple Raid Hard drive systems support different interfaces. Some of the interfaces supported include: Apple Raid PATA Drives, Apple Raid SATA Drives, Apple Raid Portable Drives, Apple Raid Mobile Drives, Apple Raid IDE Drives, Apple Raid SATA Drives, Apple Raid SATA II Drives, Apple Raid SATA 2 Drives, Apple Raid SATA III Drives, Apple Raid SATA 3 Drives, Apple Raid eSATA, Apple Raid SAS Drives, Apple Raid SCSI Drives, iSCSI, Apple Raid ESDI Drives, Apple Raid Fibre Channel Drives, Apple Raid USB Drives, Apple Raid Firewire Drives and Apple Raid PCMCIA Drives.

Apple Raid servers have been extremely popular over the last few years due to their good name and robust technology. While very good hard disk drives, Apple Raid servers, like all other hard drive systems, they do fail. A sudden failure of the Apple Raid server normally means that the raid configuration or electronics has failed in most cases.
